79 350s were identical copies of 250s. Every single functional part was the same. They had d60 rears and either a d44hd or d60 front. Gvwr dictated axle code and the 1 ton designation was simply a way increase the advertised capacity without changing anything. It was entirely possible to option a 250 so that the rated capacity is higher than a poorly optioned 350.

yup. my 79 F-350 Custom with D60 front and rack body is actually lower GVWR than the 79 F-250 4X4 trailer special.

the 79 f350s only came with the d60 front and rear they never had a D44 "big hub" in front... that was the sno fighters

amazing how a few Qs on lift turn into a debate on 79 f350.... ill just leave it at that

another thing im wondering is with the highboy leafs does the drag link for pitman need to be extended or do i need to get a drop pitman arm?

Don't waste your money on stock steering on the driver side. You got a d60 go crossover. Don't know what that is?? Than just give up

That is not true. Both 250 and 350s were available with d44hds and d60s. The gvwr dictated axle size but the front springs remained the same

i know what crossover steering is and i plan to do that later down the road thanks..

hmmmm, did not know about d44's in 79 f350's. looked at one years ago and just figured someone had swiped the 60 and replaced it with a d44 to try and scam a dummy.
