I know that you can flash the PCM - and then put a chip in since it overrides the settings.
I guess my (2 part) question is - when you use the 'STOCK Tune' setting on a Ts chip - is the tune on the chip, or is it just turning off the chip - and using the tune on the PCM itself?

And along those lines - is it possible to upload a flash tune (while in the 'stock' switch setting) to the PCM for use, so that I could use additional 'custom' tunes without having to re-flash the Ts chip?

 

The only chip I know of that does this is the SCT Eliminator chip. Position 4 reverts to the PCM.

I would not attempt uploading a tune to the PCM with any chip installed. That process is known for taking out chips and PCM's.
