Steering wheel removal.
Can any tell me how to get the horn ring off this streeing wheel?



I think it's from a 59 car and I'm going to see if it fits my 58 truck.

Push down on horn ring and turn. I think counterclockwise. If thats doesnt work try a hammer.

That is correct...to remove the steering wheel itself, you will need a steering wheel puller...

That worked. Pressed down with a twist. Came right off.

Me too. Or is it me three? I like the look of that and it appears to be in serviceable condition

I got a steering wheel puller over my lunch hour today. I'll take the old one off tonight and see if the new one fits. I'll take a few photos.

It looks like it will work. First I counted the splines and they matched. When I took the old wheel off it did not have a nut holding the wheel on. I put the new wheel on and it lined up but I did not have the nut to tighten down the wheel to see if I need to trim the turning signal tab. I did have to turn the tab to the right to make it line up. The tab does turn the signals off. I going off to a junk yard Saturday that has several 57-60 F 100's and I'll get a nut for the wheel. I filled a few cracks in the wheel with epoxy. I'll sand them tonight and and paint the lower half of the wheel to match the dash. The white half of the wheel I'll leave alone.

1959 Ford car uses a horn ring nylon retainer: B9AZ-13A809-A.

1957/58 Ford car horn ring looks similar, but uses a steel retainer.

Thunderbird's are different.

looks great on there; now I got to start paying more attention to the old cars in the salvage yard and see if I can find a neat old wheel and center ring.

My sediments exactly. I have one but it has too many cracks
