Except forced induction.
But assuming that's not an option for cost reasons these early EFI motors were badly smothered with tiny cams and restrictive exhaust systems so there is some torque and milage to be gained with upgrades in this area. I doubt an E150 is any heavier than my xcab 4x4 F150 with a fiberglass cap on it and I have seen significant milage increases with longtube headers and a cam change to the stock 5.0.

I certainly won't argue that the 351 is a FAR better truck motor, I've had both in my truck and there is no comparison.. the 5.8 will bitch slap the 5.0 and tow it around backwords.. and milage is pretty much the same too, but it may be a more work that the OP wants to do.

Depends on how much it costs you to feed a 460 on LPG, vs a 351W, the 460 gets about 30% less MPG on gasoline as opposed to a 351W. My 95 E150's best MPG was 16, most of the time it was around 12-13 on the highway. And that was an EFI roller cammed 351W with a 3.55 rear and an E4OD transmission. I had a friend that had a 92 E150 with a 302/AODE/3.08 rear, it's mileage was dead even with the 351 in mine. You will just have to work out the math to decide, I know things are much different over there as far as fuel prices go. Here in Louisiana, regular gas sells for $3.35/gallon. CNG when you find it is around $1.90 (per GGE). LPG is much more expensive than CNG, 5 gallon (portable exchange) tankfuls run about $3-4 per gallon. Never priced it in the 100-200 gallon tanks. We're in the midst of an oil boom in several states right now, so hopefully crude oil will drop like natural gas did a few years ago. CNG is so cheap they're talking about exporting it over to your side of the pond, instead of 10 years ago when they were building import terminals (that never got used)

CNG import terminals simply move the super cooled and compressed CNG from a CNG ship to CNG storage tanks. To export it, the natural gas from the pipeline has to be super cooled and compressed to liquify the gas. It's cooled to something like -268*F to compress and liquify it. To use it in a vehicle I think it's somewhat less than that.
