SD EFI 460 High Compression

SD EFI 460 High Compression
Hi,
Im doing a mild performance build on my 93 f250 460 engine. I have a SD question, how high of compression can the SD handle? Im looking to be around 10:1 static compression, I have chosen some KB flat top hyper pistons ( single valve relief) and the block is decked .008 per side( to remove water damage) and the heads will be milled slightly. Builder says with my KB piston setup will be close to 10:1. Will this run ok on SD? anyone have a similar experience they could share? I am also installing a low-mid range cam from comp cams, everything else will be stock. any advice? Thanks.
Eric

The ethanol is great for higher compression engines.
I would call around to the Dyno tuners and see if they have the capability to burn a chip for the truck. The 24lb injectors should be fine, but if you're doing headers and exhaust and maybe head porting, you'll want 30lb injectors and require tuning.
Should run strong with 10-1 compression though. I never did that any of my efi 460 trucks but everything else I did, they responded great.

Good to hear, I was really worried about the SD being able to recognize the change in compression. I will look into having a chip burned, any good companies out there other than Jet performance? I plan on doing headers but the heads will remain stock ( to my knowledge 93- on had the best flowing heads). would an adjustable pressure reg be a good idea?
Thanks

Jet chips suck. Tgey are generic and dont help.
You need a custom chip. That is Dyno tuned.
There is a lot you can do to help.
Headers and nice y-pipe and a diesel exhaust will be great.
Adjustable regulator is only needed if you are leaning out on the top end. But then it may be injectors clogged or too small. Again, need a Dyno or a wideband to know.

Should I be ok using the stock computer for engine break in? heads will remain stock but I will be installing headers. I will eventually get a chip burned ( having a tough time finding a supplier ). I have new 24 lb injectors that I will be installing so I would think I would be ok on the fueling end of things, what do you think?
Thanks,
Eric

Stock ecu is fine. You're not doing anything special are you. Big cam would require something but headers and stock size injectors isn't anything the stock ecu can't handle.
Call the guys who burn chips for mustangs. They usually can help. Go and research sct dealers online. Find one in your area or within 100 miles and call them as well.

<hr class="bucketDivider" noshade="true" size="1"> Product Description
The Power Module contains a dyno-tuned power chip mounted on a circuit board that easily plugs into the Ford computer's service port. The power module delivers more horsepower and torque, faster acceleration, and improved throttle response. Depending on the application, the power module also controls the cooling fan on/off temperatures, permitting the use of a low-temp thermostat for a cooler, denser intake charge. It also raises the top-speed limiter to compensate for the speed rating of factory-approved high-performance tires and firms full-throttle transmission shifts for faster acceleration.

I actually just see pms new intake adaptor 2-3 weeks ago. Very cool you can put carb intake on the efi heads now. The carb adaptor for the efi intake is 4-5 years old.
The hypertec controller looks to be a piggyback. Not a standalone. I also see that a while ago.
Glad you posted them. I only read forum on my phone so I'm lazy and don't share sometimes.
