Nope, nope it doesnt, the tach just goes from the tach sensor on top of the IP housing to the 2 wires in the dash that are not included on a non tach dash. How do I know? I did the swap, and I swapped a 3g alternator in so I cut the wiring harness off except the green wire. I was surprised there wasn't more to it but I fired it up the first time and its been working ever since.
