How many 6.2 super duty's in your area?

I don't have the new 6.2L, as the little 5.4L still pulls me around. But the 500.00 charge every other visit to the dealer does make one wonder what needs to be done that costs so much. That might be a deal breaker for me if I ever decide to upgrade to a newer truck with the 6.2L.

Thanks for the clarification, Matt!

I'm sorry I must have misread what he had said. I was fixing to say, dang, that sure is a lot for a gas motor, lol. I know the maintenance on those diesels can be quite expensive. I had a DMAX before I bought my Ford. I will never go back to a diesel again. There's nothing that I miss about them at all..... except for maybe the power, but I can do without that quite well.

The 6.7 is a great machine, I'd have one in a heartbeat if I was frequently towing heavy, but I'm not.
I was driving home from get together with some buddy's last night and threw it in M, downshifting and just letting the thing rev, love the sound of that motor...

The only 6.2L Super Duty's I've seen around here are fleet trucks. Have yet to see one on the road without signs on it. So many diesels here I would guess the ratio is like 30/40-1 diesels/gas. The most frequently asked question about my truck is "is that a diesel?" I found mine at a dealership over 200 miles away! I'm in the bay area of Northern Ca.

The only one in my area that I know about is a farmer that went form a 2010 V10 to a 6.2 with 4.30 gears (just like his V10).I had a long talk with him last year when I started thinking about buying one. He pulls a lot on stock and hay trailers without any problems the biggest difference was it shifted more and ran few more rpms than the V10 did. I never really looked on any lots because I knew I would never find one setup the way I wanted.

Well you guys give me some hope. I should be in the market for one in a year and I don't see much on Autotrader. What I do see XLT and above only has the 3.73. Maybe what's out there now will start to get on the sale papers when I'm looking. Especially if Ford does some updates to the 6.2 soon

Go Camping, Try Cars.com as well. I used both of them while looking for my current ride. There were trucks on both sites but a number of them were listed on one or the other. I found autotrader a bit more of a pain to use than cars.com. However, either site will hopefully get you to the point you want to be at.

I have to say, I've seen just as many 6.2's as 6.7's here in Southern Ontario. I would almost say a 45/55 split.
Union Gas uses only 6.2 in there new '11/'12/'13 utility trucks. I have seen XL's all the way to Lariats with them, there is a new '12 Lariat in the Ford lot in town right now with the 6.2L.
I recently drove a used, 2011 F-250 XL Scab/4x4 with the 6.2L in it at a used truck lot, had 185,000km on it and still ran like a bat-outta-hell. Had 3 new coil packs and 16 plugs done to it only. I found it was a perfect combo. But at $22,500 it is a bit to much for me at the moment.
That being said, I have seen as many 6.7 trucks too.
I do know from research the 6.2 can range from 10-14MPG in mixed driving. The 6.7PSD can range from 12-18MPG. That can be a sale right there, minding you don't buy a big block for fuel economy :P and saving the $10,000 off the sticker for the diesel (yes, $9500-$10,000 here for the diesel option) can be a sales point too. $10,000 can buy a lot of fuel!
I cannot post on behalf of 6.7 drivers seeing as I have never driven one.....yet. I am in the market for a Ford truck, but have not decided on what at this moment. I want to thank all you folks on here at the same time, this is my first post on here, but have been reading threads and getting answers for 2 months now from this site. I greatly appreciate it!

I need to stop looking or I'll get in trouble with momma!

Its very interesting to hear what you guys are seeing in different parts of the country. When I bought mine there were only 2 6.2's on the lot....the one I bought was optioned better and was the color I wanted but there was not much to choose from. My sales guy said they did not get many and the ones they did get went fast.
I searched for a used one before I bought mine and within a 200-300 mile radius only came up with less than five. One I saw was a loaded Lariat with low miles but the asking price was damn near what I paid for a brand new truck. I got a sweet deal on mine cause they were clearing out the 12's to make room for the 13's
got 6k on the clock still love it and it puts a smile on my face every time I drive it!

Pretty much the same here in IL, I'd say 95% diesel. If you want a 6.2 around here, order one. Heck, I looked for almost 4 months for a used one to resale. Finally found one in Canada with the right combo. I kept the truck for a couple weeks and drove it and wasn't as great as I was hoping.

I don't see very many here in MI either, mostly diesels too. I think a lot of people get caught up in the MPG's they get, but don't do the math on the cost to buy, maintain, and fuel the diesel. When the 6.2 will be more then enough truck for what most people need them for. I tow 10,000 lbs TT with a golf cart in the bed and never had a problem, wish I got the 350 though for the extra capacity, but still love driving my truck after 2 years.

Yeah spot on for the diesel craz.....actually the towing capability of 150 series trucks is crazy....I am sure most people can use a 150 to tow....but like me I prefer the 250 look and just a bigger truck. I don't have anything heavy enough to max out my 250 but I love the look of the truck!

A lot of the construction guys in NJ are either driving 6.2's around or hanging onto their old 7.3's. We are looadddded with landscaping companies... alot of them have 6.2 mason dumps. There are probably 4 6.7's to every 1 6.2 though. Im starting to see more 6.2's in the horse world too.... a lot of the track guys and barns have been switching (a lot of Chevy 6.0's too). People ask me all the time how I like mine with towing and all.... "Why didn't you buy a diesel?"....
