Ok, you have the DPF-R. When you get the DPF-R 4.0+ you have the option of only deleting and not tuning also.

Did you by this?

The Ford DPF-R+ is designed to be a fully reversible DPF delete for trucks equipped with DPF filters. Including a +70HP increase for even more off-road performance, this well rounded tuning fits all driving styles. Included are the electronics only. A racing exhaust kit or maintenance pipe is required for use.

  • Re-Programs ECM for Trouble Free EGR/CAT/DPF Delete
  • Voice Prompted Menu System
  • Reads & Clears DTC's
  • Fully Reversible, Easy Installation
Mine does not come with 70hp tuning, Did yours?

This is mine.

The Ford DPF-R is designed to be a fully reversible and temporary DPF delete for trucks equipped with DPF filters. Included are the DPF delete electronics only. For additional power you must run a module in conjunction with this unit.

Features:
  • Re-Programs ECM for Trouble Free EGR/CAT/DPF Delete
  • Clears Diagnostic Trouble Codes
  • “Stacks” w/ Performance Modules
  • Easy, Reversible Installation
  • Automatic Transmission Only
“Stacking” Notes: The Ford DPF-R works by reprogramming the factory ECM. The included programming does not provide any additional power. To increase power you must stack this unit with a module that installs in-line with the engine harness that does not modify the factory programming.

Exhaust/EGR Notes: Exhaust “Bungs” are not required. Factory exhaust sensors must be in good working order and remain connected to factory wiring harness. Connected sensors can be routed out of the way or re-installed into test pipe.
When using the Ford DPF-R it is recommended that an EGR Delete or EGR Blocker Plate is installed.

I don't ever recall my boost at or over 40, but I rarely put my foot into her. Maybe getting onto a busy hwy or.... yes!! The day I dumped my DPF!!

Yes. When you buy the 4.0 you have the choice to run the 70hp tune or just run stock flash with dpf delete(what you have).

This is because you are not running an added hp tune. It's still stock....just with no dpf.

That's true. My tranny was not designed to crank up the hp. I have the juice with attitude, but it's stays on level one. Level 4 is 100 hp. I bought this tuner for all the safety features.

I had an Edge evolution "racing" tuner on for 10,000 miles or so. I ran it at the lowest setting which as I recall was +35 HP. Toward the end of the 10,000 miles my tranny would delay into drive from park or into reverse from park. I drove it that way for a while and then took it to the Ford dealer. dealer said it was within specs, no problem. That just didn't seem to ring true to me. I've driven a lot of automatics in my life time and I'm old, but I don't remember one delaying that much. So, I was ready for a tranny flush anyway and had that done. It still delayed so I took it to a friend of a friend and for $85 he assured me it was "border line". I was ready for a new tuner by then and got an H&S which does tune the tranny. After a period of time with the new tuner the tranny fixed itself and now has no abnormal delay. So, to the OP, maybe you just need to stay on the stock tune and give it some time. Or try having it flushed which is a bit pricey but called for at 60,000 on my truck. I don't know if the flush or the new tuner or something else caused the tranny to self repair but I'm glad it did. This is of course not hi tech advice but it did work for me.

This sounds exactly like the problem Spartan tuners had for a while, they suggested to add 1/2 quart of trans fluid to take care of the issue it does help but it is your tuner for sure. The H&S tuner does not have this issue.

trans relearning

There is a specific procedure to relearn transmission shift points, basically 4, 0 to 75 mph runs , I believe at 25%, 50% 75% then 100% throttle respectively.
I run the GBZ DPF-R Plus economy/performance tune 70 hp, using Edge CS as monitor only, so far all is great.
