Is there some trick to removing the front license plate holder on a 2000 Expedition. We don't have front plates in PA and the holder looks kind of dumb without one. The previous holders I removed were screwed in but this one looks to be rivited
I suggest you get a drill and a punch. After CAREFUL removal, box it up and send it down to Florida (my truck would look mighty purdy with one of them there license plate holder thingys)
Your going to need to remove the skirt from the bumper. Mine got ripped out(by me) and I had to remove the old remaining tabs. Ended up having to remove the skirt and then I has able to get to the rivits etc....
I just pulled the bottom away from the bumper, and gave the top half a good tug, and the tabs broke off. It worked, but I decided I needed to put another on. Now I have to get a drill and get under htere and drill out the rivets. Oh, one of those holders cost me $11.95
Thinking about removing mine also. Most Expys in CA have a front plate and I'd like to be different. Although not sure about the law, I have seen a number of trucks without front plates.
I want to move mine down so that when I finally buy my lower grill insert the plate won't cover most of the hole. Iv'e noticed that some of the expies have the lower opening in the chrome bumper but mine has it's in a plastic spoiler, gotta find a way to move it without tearing up the plastic.
I have a 2000 expy and when I replaced my valance to install fog lights I forgot to put my license bracket back on. I don't feel like getting back under there to put it back. Anyone got any ideas for putting a license holder on? I want to put a 3d skull plate on. I was looking at some no drill brackets, but none seem to offer one that fits the 2000 expy.
