Could be the actuator in the dash that controls the blend door Clint or one of the ones at the hub.

yup clint... one of them... some vehicles have 2-3 others have even more... theyre known for sticking and causing issues... and like shaun said earlier.. F150's are really known for the door itself slipping off the actuator...

i dunno if ford adopted it too.. but i know some mfgs have started moving towards electronic actuators vs just vacuum driven ones... (their way of trying to solve the issue with vacuum lines.. someways caused other issues in its own) others i know did a hybrid where its both vacuum w/electric sensor to tell the computer when theres a problem..

You would have to pull the glove box out at the bare minimum Clint. More then likely the dash would have to come out or be dropped down to get the clearance needed to check it.

the actuators would still be in the same place.. would just look a little different... the ducting itself was universal..

Well I pulled the glove box off today. I did see a shiny silver vertical rod...i don't know if that was the actuator, but I can get to that easy enough as the Excursion glove box just flips out. But I don't know what i am looking for. Thats my issue. If I have to tear into the dash i'm toast
