I tried following my vacuum lines down to the hubs, but couldnt feel or see any kind of leak. They are original hubs.

Could also be a vacuum leak from the actuator onat the hubs. COuld also be a leak there at the blend door.

Pull the ESOF lines off of the hubs and plug. Try it, if it still blowing through defrost its not the hub seals. Might be a small split in the line that you can't feel or see.

Does the engine have to be running for the vacuum pump to run?

No, you can KOEO (key on engine off) and the pump starts

Thats cool Clint. Im use to the larger diesels where it is belt driven off of the alternator.

that or a dirty electrical contact... alot of people dont realize the switch itself isnt just vacuum controlled... it has an electrical component that talks to the computer, blowers, and compressor as well... shorts in that part of the switch can cause similar issues...
