Question about GearBox Z DPF-R
I have a 2008 6.4L that I picked up 4 months ago. My last vehicle was a 6.0 Excursion. I have the EDGE Ford Evolution programmer installed and like it. Now after seeing how often the regeneration occurs ( every 250-350 miles) I have been looking into removing the DPF. I'd like to keep the Edge Evolution and it seems like the 2 are compatible. Does anyone have experience with the GearBox Z DPF-R? Will this combo work and what are Pro's and con's? I'm not looking to generate huge power - just better economy and less engine wear.
Also - should the Cat be reomoved also? I see there are different pipes that remove only the DPF and others that remove both. If I'm staying predominantly stock with a K&N direct replacement filter element what size exhaust should I put in that is compatible with what is already in.
?
Thanks for any input

I just installed the Dpf-r and left the cat in, used a 3.5in dpf delete pipe (this is the one i used http://www.ebay.com/itm/6-4-delete-pipe-DPF-/150695953903?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item23162dc5ef&vxp=mtr ).
The only bad thing about the Dpf-r is now it idles higher than i like, and hard to understand the voice prompts

I have the Ford Evolution Programmer. It has 4 tunes - basically eco, towing, race and extreme. The extreme is a 100hp tune with about a 200lb torque or something like that - I haven't used it yet. Mostly eco and tow.

I rarly used the HP tunes, but the tunes will conflict with Gearbox-Z. So if you want to play with the tines with the gearbox you need the Juice w/attitude.
