Dana 44 and Dana 60 Brake caliper bracket differences?

Anyone know if there are any differences in the caliper brackets between an 8-lug dana 44 from a 79 ford 3/4 ton and a dana 60? Does the 60 use the same twin piston calipers?

I know for sure they both use dual piston calipers, and NAPA prolink and Carquest Weblink don't list different calipers for the two applications. I'm thinking they use the same rotor too

No they are not the same. The rotors are different also.

The only thing that will swap over is the calipers

My bad, I thought the OP was asking about the calipers.

Didn't know that about the rotors.

Brackets are gonna be different because of the size of the knuckle

Yeah mostly I was just curious about the caliper mounting bracket. I can find aftermarket brackets for a 60 but not an 8 lug 44.

When I swapped my TTB out for the Dana 60 in my 1991 the calipers mount different. The TTB has the pins that you beat in and out and the Dana 60 has a bolt on the lower half that holds it in place

No, I never looked into it anymore. What I have works for now, but would like to change the front bake setup in the future. If you are ok with single piston calipers, look into lugnut4x4.com. They sell 8 lug 44 brackets to adapt to the Chevy calipers. I know some would say this is a step backwards from the dual piston setup in terms of stopping power, but I'm really not impressed with my brakes right now. They are old and wore out, I don't drive it that often and I don't haul 10,000 lbs or anything like that so that's what I'm leaning towards right now.
That being said, I think you will find that the dana 60 caliper bracket mounting hole pattern is different than the 8 lug 44. But like I said, I never did look into it anymore. Hope this helps.

I see. Try emailing the guy at that lugnut4x4.com and ask what the interchangeability is between the two. I won't say it won't work but I really do think they are different.
