I do try to go to a place that cycles trough fuel at a relatively decent rate. Pilot or big name places off the express way are usually the best bet.

I've got a place by me(Southern WI) that sells a lot of tractor fuel so to save on cost(diesel is 3.99 and off-road is 3.70) they usually let me mix some in.

Flying J about 12 miles away. I will stop and fill up when ever in the area. I have the Flying J / Good Sam Club fuel card so no hassles with swiping a credit card multiple times hen I need 50 or 60 gallons to fill up.

Isn't the off road stuff died red?? In the unlikely event you get checked with that stull in your truck, won't you be in for some hearty fines and/or taxes??

I used to use tractor fuel when living on the farm in Ohio. We had a huge tank to fill up the big machines and just filled the trucks up with it as well. It is dyed and I am pretty sure it was red. You get fined for putting that in your trucks?

Yea its red fuel, seperate pump at the station.

Only get in trouble if you get caught

Awhile ago I did have a couple friends get caught running it, cop puts a rod into your gas tank and checks it for color. They say they wern't being stupid but police wont pull you over on suspicion for running red fuel, you'd really have to **** them off...or he forgot his donuts...

i've had to do $100 tune ups on my "old" 2000 gasser. so now when i find a good spot i go there, my truck runs nice on food for less diesel there are 2 on my way to work if i dont take the highway. they are usually one of the cheapest. then i swipe the little card and get at least $0.03 off, not much but makes me feel all fuzzy inside. and nearly 20 mpg in my cclb is acceptable. i had to stray recently and went to a speed way, only diesel i could find close enough as i pulled out of the pump it started running bad and missing. i replaced my cps on the advise of all these nice folks and diluted the water with food 4 less diesel and have had no more issues. ill never know for sure. so i'm giving each issue 50% blame.

as for turnover in their tanks, i don't see their sheets. i never have to wait for the pump but there is almost always 1 truck out of the 4 pumps.

bad fuel will cost more later! ask the alt. fuel guys.
