I have already put down a layer of POR-15 on my rear bumper and watched a few biting black flies land on it and get stuck. Sure sign of spring in Maine right there! Warm and dry enough to paint but also warm enough for the pests to come out too.

Moose poop is in season! I'm steppin' in it all over the place. Anyway, putting some hard times behind me, dealing with the hard times in front of me, and taking it one day at a time. Recently, I found another F1 frame to bring home for my DD project. Got the other projects planned out with engine swaps in the next couple weeks, and got most of the rotisserie done for the '47 sedan.

I have to admit...that even here, I slow down in the winter. I do have heaters in my workshop, but it's just not as much fun when it's cold and dark. Some of those projects require that the heaters be turned off as well. I can feel it coming now....I'm going to get..."you don't know what cold is there in California"!

I know that it can get as low as 45 degrees in some parts of CA, and I know that it can be humid at the same time - Those conditions will lock up the joints in my hands and hips

So I guess I'll have to give you a slow down

Most people equate California to the beach in San Diego. We live in a big state with all kinds of climates. Maybe Dave will weigh in from Truckee...which occasionally comes in as the nations coldest town beating out Minnesota. But then we also have Palm Springs which has something like an average of 360 sunny days per year with 70's in the winter (not a bad place to visit in February).

Years ago I took some visitors from Minneapolis to a game at Candlestick park in San Francisco....they said that it was the coldest they've ever felt....even though it was 52 degrees...but it was a high humidity day with wind. The street vendors in SF sell a lot of jackets to tourists!!

So...yeah...we also have wrenching season!!

Here in the "Inland Empire" we have overnight lows in the winter in the low 30s and highs in the summer in the 110 to 115 area. Usually over 100 for at least 30 days in the summer.

I don't care how tough you are, wrenching in 105 heat will kick your butt.

I spent 17 months a Nellis AFB in Lost Wages NV - I vollenteered for an isolated remote tour in Alaska to get away from the heat - I was fishing on Lake Meade it was 2:30 in the morning and it was 113 degrees - Packed everything up and headed for the house - I guess I may something of a candy *** when it comes to cold or heat
