rear hub/drum removal?
I have a 1997 f350 4wd dually, and somehow i managed to break all the axle bolts inside the hub, I just got this truck about 3 months ago. and the bolts inside it wasn't the grade 8 ones. I have a extra axle that was a srw f350, the drum slides off it easy, the one that broke is a lil different, im guessing all i gotta do is that the nut inside the hub off and the drum will come off? other question will my srw hub work? It seems to be the same, measurements, how ever the rear hub aint attached to the drum. like the one thats broke. What do any off yall have to say/think?

Pretty sure the dually axle is different. I know the hub-hub measurement is long on the dually, wonder if the brake drum is a lil wider.
As for getting the brake drum off they should slide right off with the brakes backed off but we all know nothing works that easy. Back the brakes off and start pounding....

My axle bolts broke the same way. Theres a tiny gap between the end of the splines where they bolt on and the hub, and water had gotten in there over the years and rusted the bolts. I had to get a new hub. Not sure how the dually hubs work, but once yuou get the outer hub for the dually off, you have to remove the spindle nut inside. You may need a rubber mallet to break the hub seal loose.
