2008 6.4 short bed fuel tank to the 38 gal tank

I have a line on the long bed fuel tank. Does anyone know if the 38 gal tank will fit in place of my 30 gal tank on the short bed?

It is a diesel but don't think that matters.

If it was possible, I would have thought it would have been an option from the factory. I don't think it was. Mine's a lb and it has the 38/39 gal tank. It's approx 6' long and fits back to within 6" of the rear axle, right in the area that makes up the diff between a sb and a lb. there's no way that same tank would fit.
I only know of short bed owners with the 30 gal.

I remember seeing this on here before, and I "think" the reason it didn't work was because the mounting straps were all wrong, and the lines and pump all mount in different locations. I don't think anything is impossible if you're willing to do some custom work, but if it's going to take 20 hours and cost $500 to stick it in, you might as well buy a 45+ gallon Titan or Transferflow.

Cant find on FTE, but this has pics:

Well that is not what I wanted to hear. I have a line on one for the cheap but guess it will be too much trouble.

Thanks
