Cab swap

Cab swap
Hello my name is Luke and I'm new here to FTE and I have a 1964 f-100 LWB. I've had the truck for about 10 years and finally wanting to get it finished. I came across a 1966 SWB and from what I've read is the 64 cab will fit on the 66 frame with modifications. Who has done this swap and what needs to be done? Will there be issues with the title or registering the truck because of the swap? I also read that the vin on the door and the vin on the frame won't match creating issues? The state it'll be registered in will be New Mexico. Any additional info would be much appreciated.

Luke Welcome to FTE & the Slicks forum
The VIN on the passenger side frame rail is the go to. I would suggest that you act as though you sold one truck & bought the other, so yes to re-register. Unless you have a vanity plate does it make a difference to you what tag it's wearing? Each state has different requirements, run it by your DMV for kicks & giggles.
I don;t think it will be a big issue.
