F3 stake pockets

I think I can probably guess the answer to this one, but does anyone make new stake pockets for the 8 foot beds? Or anyone have some good ones to sell me?

F-2/3 pockets are wider and taller than F-1s. I've never heard of an aftermarket set made, nor a NOS set being available. Fixing yours will be needed because I can't imagine anybody with a brain cutting up a rust free bed to sell the pockets. Stu

To my knowledge no one is making them, and the likelihood of finding a donor set would be slim. I looked at trying to modify an f-1 pocket, but that would be a ton of work since its basically 2/3rd's the size of the F-2/3 pockets. Figure I'm going to have to take the time to hammer out a set, or try to make a set/patch from fiberglass.

Fiberglass would be my solution too. I've got a real nice Arizona rust free bed that I'll someday pull molds from to make a glass set to go on a Midwestern bed that is straight but cancered bad. Stu

Edit - damn, Ross, we're just making this too difficult I guess. Stu

I didn't think anyone had these either but i was going thru old catalogs to clean up the stack that keeps falling over and saw this in the NPD catalog. Does the bed length have anything to do with the pocket size? The reason I ask is the 5th edition of the NPD catalog has part # F-278A68-0A F1-3 48-50 61/2' bed. Page 202. The shape looks close in the pic but I can't tell width or length

Ahhh, ehow to the rescue again, apprently I just need a dremel with a plastic cutter.

Dave, the 8' beds had larger pockets than the 6 1/2' beds, I believe you can buy repro ones for the short beds. I think fibreglass will be the answer, there s enough of the old pockets left to patch I think. I won't ever be putting stakes in them so it should be fine.

6.5 ft bed would be for and F-1 only.. And yeah, if it's a pocket for an F-1, it is too small for the 8ft bed.. They are same overall style, but the stakes for the 8ft are about 25% larger in all respects.
