Color choices

I think I've decided to pull the trigger on a new F150 (read: Have reluctant buy-in from the wife.) Have narrowed it down to an XLT SCREW 4x4, 5.0 in one of the three following color choices: Kodiak Brown, Sterling Gray or Blue Jeans Matallic. Anyone have any compelling reasons to pick one color over the others? Thinking gray will be easier to keep clean, but rather bland. the brown seems more unique but looks almost black and the metallic flake has a bit of bass boat flair. The blue jeans may be a bit dull.

I chose Sterling Gray. It doesn't quite show the dirt as bad.

One thing I've learned about vehicle colors over the years is that the more standard colors (Blacks, Grays, Whites, Silvers, Reds) tend to hold their values better than vehicles with what I'll call period colors ('70's Browns, '80's Greens, '90's Teals, '00's Oranges). Think about how bad those teal mid-90s trucks all look today. Plus the Sterling Gray color isn't quite as dull as you'd think. It's got a heavy metallic that tends to pick up other colors as the light varies.

I'm liking the brown as well but the good thing is, the F-150 dresses up real nice in any color.

I happen to think teal is a timeless color for a pickup! . Good points, though. The wife likes the brown because its unique, but I could see it looking dated in 10 years.

I was definitely surprised by the brown color...I thought REALLY? brown?...but when I saw it in person it really is a unique color. (not one that I would buy but unique) I have not seen the blue jeans blue in person yet. The gray...to me is just gray and you see it everywhere.

So my suggestion is find a truck with the blue and the brown and put them side to side and see which one jumps out at you. (preferably in the direct sunlight to se the flake)

Good luck on your decision!

Agreed. You need to see the metallic colors in sunlight. I didn't get the full effect of the metallic on my tuxedo black STX until 2 days after purchase....

I would choose gray out of those 3 colors. My truck is tuxedo black and its a pain to keep clean in my line of work. But man does it shine when it's all cleaned up.

I really like the brown because it is different. I only had electric blue, black and silver to choose from. I also think the grey looks great combined with the chrome pkg. It really sets off the chrome.

Of those 3 colors Id choose kodiak brown, it looks sweet, it looks black but its not....its not gray like every other 3rd car on the road and you dont see them very often. I considered it but they did not have one anywhere within 200 miles so I went with blue instead and have been very happy with the blue

I know it is an Expy (F150 in a few months). My wife texted me back while I was signing and said I can not believe you are getting that color. My daughter said I should paint it blue. I have received more compliments on the color of this vehicle and now my wife is taking it. Brown was not my choice - but I had to have the towing package and auto hatch. So it was my only option. I smile because there is a 250 and I have seen a couple F150's around in the brown now also.

Pictures don't seem to do the Kodiak brown justice. It looks very good in person cleaned up and shiny.
