Question WHAT YEAR DID FORD 302 TRUCKS ????

What year did the Ford Trucks with 302s start to use Roller Cams? I searched but couldn't come up with an answer.
Thanks in advance.
Craig

jimbbski is starting off with a positive reputation.
No Ford Truck 302 got a roller cam. The Explorer did get a roller can starting in 1996. Now all of the blocks that Ford made after 1985 were cast so that a roller cam could be installed after a few modifications were made and the roller cam parts were sourced.

Roller cams were introduced in the 1992 model year with the same "base roller cam" the Crown Vics had. 1994 they got a far better cam, the F4TE which was also used in the roller 5.8's and later in the Explorer/Mountaineer 5.0

So to get things straight in my mind my 95 F150 4x4 with factory installed 5.0 (302) has a roller cam? What brought this up was the oil & DZZP. If my 95 isn't a roller cam then I want to add an additive to make up for the lack of zinc so critical to hydraulic flat tappet cams.
Thanks,
Craig

Yes, your 95 has a roller cam. It's just a tad less cam than the HO 5.0's cam with. Here are the specs for the F4TE (your cam) .422/.445 lift, 256/266* advertised duration. The HO cam is .445/.445 lift, 276/266 duration (some list it as 276/276) No ZDDP needed
