Does anyone know whether the factory welded the door hinges. Was this done to keep the doors in alignment? Do the hinge bolts have a tendency of loosening? My truck is a Canadian model 51 F1, if it matters. Each of the 4 hinges have a good sized tack weld to the door jam.

 

They all do from the factory. Probably was the cheapest way of doing it. It was all about money and speed in assembly.

I ground off the welds 20 years ago and have been driving my F-2 since without a problem.
