Those who choose to blaze their own trail and not follow the official Truckfest directions are on their own. Chris you might want to read up on Bob's adventures getting to Truckstock and hang on to the compass!
Stop picking on me!! It was my wife's fault, she navigated, I drove. You try to drive a non-synchronized four speed with a flat six through a strange countryside without one level straight stretch of road longer than 100 feet!

I'm whussing out for Truckfest, it's only a measly 215 mile , 5-1/2 hour drive. But when you factor in stock F-2 suspension, double clutching and taking back roads it seems a bit longer. I love every minute of it.
I need to double clutch my 31. Down shifting in her is not a smooth thing to do , grinnnnn!!! My Georgia overdrive works good until I need to put it back in gear
Grinnnnn!
Once the carb was fixed truck shifted fine. Most people I just don't think would enjoy double clutching.
Double clutching is a developed skill that most of us who have learned it are proud of.
I have a clutch linkage from my '49 I will send to you if yours is frozen up or worn out. But, I would suspect you have a least a couple spares layin' around.

I don't have any problems shifting the truck. Last year I have some trouble because of the high idle which was fixed at Truckstock, thanks to Ross. On the way home it was like driving a new truck. I don't mind double clutching, it becomes natural and I do it without thinking. I do enjoy watching someone trying to do it for the first time.
