Starting up

Hey guys well when I start up my truck it revs all the way up to like 2000 rpm and then goes down to the normal. Is this a problem or is it ok.

Sorry, It is a 1991 f 150 lariat, 5 speed, with a straight six in it.

Well,it's normal for my 95 5.0,not sure if the earlier years had a high idle at start up or not.

yeah thats normal and if its cold it should high idle for a minute or two, i think the number is actually 1500 rpm
