My 48 F-1 build

I'm going to resurrect my Grandfather's 48 Ford that has been sitting on the family ranch for the last 48 yrs or so. I'll be swapping the cab and hood from my 48 Ford F-5 that used to be a ODOT dump truck and the bed from the F-1 over to a 79 Ford F350 frame that has a 73 460 and a C6 trans. I'll be putting in something different for the rear end - most likely a 9" 1/2 ton and swapping out the 1 ton spindles and hubs for 1/2 ton front parts.

Here is the 48 F5

Here is the F1

Notice the stock AM radio in the dash

Here is the 79 F350 chassis donor

Nice starting point it should keep you challanged for a few minutes. Hey I bet you are one of those Oregon truck farmers from what I can see in the pics.

My grandfather was a farmer/rancher most of his life. My family has had property on the mountain here in NE Oregon since the 1880's.

I think it will be a fun, challenging, and rewarding project once it is complete.

I'm sure I'll be doing lots of research here on the forum to get ideas from
