3 Flairsides seen this afternoon.
I put out the word I need a Flairside and I got several calls. I went to see the following in and near Ponca City OK.
1. An unknown year 4x4 with a F100 1960 Flairside longbed cab/body (as per the vin on the glove box.... F10JOK....). The bed is pretty much trash. The cab is pretty solid but has a lot of rat nests. I could not get the hood open, tires rotted, it is a parts truck in my opinion. They want $1000 for her.
2, The local junk yard has a hot running and surpising very solid 1964 F100 Flairside shortbed which they will sell for $950 or $500 for the bed. It has a lot of potential with an unknown hot rod engine that sounds great. Great tires and rims. The dash is torn apart and the wiring looks like it made the PO a bit too angry and he or she just ripped it out and threw it on the floor. Too bad I have 3 trucks at this time or I would adopt her.
3. A private seller has a 1962 Flairside short bed..... bed only for $300 with the rear frame and rear end still under it. The frame was cut just behind the cab. It is pretty solid but the wood floor is covered with a thin sheet of diamond plate and the wood is totally rotted out. The bed is full of trash so I could not check it totally. It has a home made bumber and each fender has a 4 inch rusted out strip at the bottom. Too bad I am needing a long bed. I admit I am tempted to get her for salvage or for a future grand kid.
