Rough Idle When Hot, Shutdown and Won't Crank

My truck shut off yesterday after idling really rough. I thought fuel filters, changed them (filling them before putting them on) and it finally started after a good bit of spinning and waiting. Drove it around on the job site and it did the same thing. Next thought, CPS. Changed that and it cranked immediately, but the engine was cool. Ran it till the engine got hot, idled rough, shutdown, and wouldn't crank till it cooled some. Checked the engine oil for fuel; none; assume o-rings are good.

Is it possible that I need to replace the IPR?

Thanks

It sounds like maybe your ipr orings are leaking by when warm. I'd pull it and check.

Thanks. I will try that. Can they be replaced with regular o-rings or are they specific to that application?

Please forgive my ignorance. There is a lot I don't know about these trucks.

You need the viton o rings. You can get them at riffraffdiesel.com of dieselorings.com

Got it. I should have realized Viton would be necessary. O-rings sure are cheaper than replacing the whole sensor.

Thanks

I pulled the IPR and the o-rings looked fine, but I replaced them with the ones from Riff Raff Diesel. The job was easy because I have an e-fuel system and so far the truck has been cranking and running fine. Somehow I broke the top off my injection pressure sensor and had to spend the money I saved on the IPR to replace that.

So, thanks to everyone for your help.
