JJ;
You're link doesn't work, wanna try again?
As for an 8' unit on a short box, you shouldn't have too much trouble as long as the camper's centre of gravity is ahead of your rear axle. There should be some form of sticker on either side to indicate the COG.
My neighbour ran with an 8'6" Bigfoot on his short box C***y for three years until he traded it in on a fifth wheel.
If the sticker's missing, the manufacturer or dealer should be able to help you out.
Rick
Edit: He left the tailgate on to help carry the weight

I HAVE A 8 FOOT PICKUP CAMPER ON MY SHORT BOX ,, WORKS GOOD ,, ONLY TROUBLE WAS IT WAS MADE IN 97 AND MY 99 CREW CAB HAS A TALLER CAB SO WHEN I SAT IT DOWN IT RESTED ON THE ROOF HAD TO PUT 2 SHEETS OF PLYWOOD BETWEEN THE TRUCK BED AND THE CAMPER TO GET IT OFF THE ROOF

hey frederic, do you have a lift on your truck? if soo how much? i think that the 8 footer would work fine on a stock truck, but one lifted, then the rearward center of gravity would come more into play..
thanks

my truck is stock with 255x85x16's but a few years ago i saw one with a lift ,,,, another problem could be width , my truck just fits between the stands when putting on the camper ,, when i had a different truck with a 2.5 lift and 285's the stands were maxed out and the tires rubbed the stands badly just to get under the camper ,,,, good luck fred

You can get a dually extension for the jacks so that you can back under the camper with wider tires.
That doesn't mean that you should go through with this.
