New truck ordered

2013 Sterling Grey FX4 Supercrew, 5.5 bed, 5.0, FX Luxury Package and because I'm getting old I ordered the tailgate step. Dealer said most of their orders are being delivered in about 6 weeks.

I've loved my 2011 FX4 Ecoboost....not a single issue in 34,000 miles. But I went with the 5.0 this time....I miss the rumble of a V8, so I'll be putting a Roush CAI and Roush exhaust on this one when it comes in. After break in, a new tune from JDM Engineering will go in....it's gonna be awesome!

Awesome...congrats on your purchase!

I don't really care for the Roush exhaust...sounds a little too rice rocket for me. Have you listened to the Magnaflow?

Also there is this company Stainless Works that sound excellent on the 5.0:

If this matters to you they are also made here in the USA!

Yes, I've listened to other exhausts. I would agree that even the Roush exhaust on the 3.5 Ecoboost sounds to rice rocket....there is just no way to make a V6 sound like a V8. But the Roush exhaust on the 5.0 sounds fantastic....and I'm getting the 5.0 in the truck this time around. I've heard the Roush on the 5.0 in person and it's exactly what I want.

Sounds good....hope you give us some pictures etc. when you get it and when you get the work done!

Btw...I will order the tailgate step as well. It is just too darn convenient especially for climbing in and out of a truck that sits much higher than the trucks of old. (Regardless of what Howie Long says...LOL)

Yeah now even gm has their own "man step" for 2014. Only they had to build theirs into the rear bumper as a result of that ad. Keep trying chebby!!!!

It's funny, Chevy's "Man Step" is basically like what the Avalanche has had all along.

Wow, sabre, you're (note correct usage of you're, apostrophe, meaning YOU ARE, instead of your, meaning YOU OWN, possessive - sorry for little rant) trading an '11 model for new truck!? Man, that's quick! Yours (note possessive) is the kind of used truck I'd like to get!

I have several nephews, who like getting /buying a 2 year old truck, that they know who has taken care of it and how it has been taken care of...they know what they're getting. I can usually keep my payments on the new truck about the same...this time they will be $25/month more...the last time we did this they were $20 less....just depends on the rebates and financing available at the time.

I get a new truck every couple of years and the nephews get a good, reliable, well taken care of, well maintained truck that they can afford....works out well for everyone!
