Spark Plug
OK I pulled all my spark plugs today. they look good. Was going to torque them when reinstalled them. I've read all kinds of posts and articles that say you yould torque and some that say you should not torque them down.
So my first question is it advisable to torque? and then the second thing is what are the torque specificatins i need to use?
I have a 4.6L V8 Windsor. Aluminum Head. Most of what I have read says anywhere for 84 inch punds to 180 inch pounds. Most common one I have found is around 132 inch pound. I attempted the 132 inch pound when i was tightening down one of the spark plugs. But as I pulled on the torge wrench It seamed to get it way to tight and was afraid i was going to strip out the head.
So what is every ones thoughts on this.

you have to remember its aluminum and only has a few threads. Dont do it like the old 351 cast iron block heads... The new aluminum heads use a torque about 12-15 ft pounds.. multiply x 12 and you get 140 -150 inch pounds which is about right. Your 132 number might be the spec. That does not sound too tight.
