Any recommendations?

I'm starting to rebuild a 75' f100 and not sure if I want to swap the engine or keep the 360 6.9L. I have a standard 4 speed looking for a 5 speed but not sure if they make one that mounts the 360 without mods? HELP ME OUT!

Depending on the budget, the relative low-buck way is to swap in a ZF5 5-speed using an aftermarket adapter.

The other (and waaaay easier) way is a Tremec TKO-500 using a Quick Time bellhousing. Contact Modern Driveline for a setup. Around $3500 for a complete system.

Also gotta to think about rear gears... The TKO has a 0.68 overdrive so coupled with a 3.50 rear gear (and 28-inch rear tires), it'll be around 2,100 RPM at 70 mph.

Sure... there's no replacement for displacement. Step up to a 390 (crank rods, and new pistons (to bump up compression) or go ***** to the wall with a stroker kit from Survival Motorports to achieve 445 cubic inches.

351 windsor stroked and a 4wd zf tranny 5 speed.

this is probably the simplist set up i can think of if 4wd. Standard gear tranzilla (google) is another options$$$. cha-ching! forgot to see if 2wd or 4wd. if thinking big power 450 ftlb torque or more look at tremec magnum 6 speed trannys. several options for the low low FEE!

Udo Dirkschneider was the lead singer of the German heavy metal band "Accept". I saw them with with Iron Maiden, Scorpions, and Fastway back in the 80s. Some of my favs include Princess of the Dawn, Dogs On Leads, Denim and Leather, Restless and Wild, and Winter Dreams.

Back to the thread... yeah a T5Z would work too but it's a lightweight tranny and an FE's torque and the weight of these trucks will likely make you a pedestrian and your rig "Found On Road Dead".

i have experienced 302's and 351's/400's and 390's but the feel of a 460 is just unbelievable great bang for your buck upgrade especially when i can spin 40" irocs with it i would say and the zf5 i beleive bolts right up...
