HPOP gear bolt and washer

For those of you doing HPOP jobs who haven't seen what your up against on the HPOP gear bolt and washer. I took a quick video of me pulling an HPOP gear bolt. I also grabbed a video showing that the washer cannot go anywhere if you accidentally drop it. By all means try to get the bolt out with the washer still on it, but if you drop it, it's not the end of the world. So there you have it. Nothing fancy, but now you guys who haven't done an HPOP yet, you know what your up against and those of you who were wondering where the washer goes if you drop it, now you know.

Thanks for posting that Travis. I recently read a couple write ups on the hpop removal, but it makes more sense now seeing a video of the bolt and washer they talk about.

When I was removing the hpop gear bolt. The ratchet and bolt fell. I can’t find the washer for the life of me. What will happen if it fellin the block? Anyway to get it out? I looked for weeks for it and finally took the gear out and nothing.

Removing dropped washer

My son has been helping with HPOP and decided to go ahead without me for removal and dropped the washer. I have tried multiple magnets, picks and flathead screwdrivers without success. Now what? Lol 😆
