95 F-150 Rear Fuel Tank Leak

I have a 95 F-150 2WD 5.0 and the rear fuel tank has finally rotted out. I'm seeking a little advice on how to proceed. Obviously I can buy a new tank, but as I don't really need two functioning tanks, and I replaced my front tank a few years back, I'm not sure I want to drop the money on that. So if I don't replace it, can I get away with just siphoning out the remaining gas and leaving it alone? I've owned this truck for 5.5 years now and have never used the rear tank, so I don't think there should be much fuel in there (plus it's slowly dripping out now). Alternatively, if I wanted to remove it, is there any way to cap the lines and leave it with just the front tank? Any other options I've overlooked?

Thanks!
