That is not correct. Clay is selling his own wheels. Bob @ dieselsite has his own wheels.

Bob's is a 6/6 IIRC.

Clay introduced the 5/5 while the 6/6 was in R&D. The 5/5 is just a E99 wheel made out of billet. The 6/6 is his own wheel. It has a few differences that increase CFM while getting great spool.

My 6/6 from Clay should be coming this week and I'll get it in and some video asap

Here is a link to Dieselsite showing the 38R and 38 wheels, along with his 6.0 wheel.
http://www.dieselsite.com/wickedwheel.aspx Bob's wheels have an engraving on the hex. My 38R wheel looks similar, but is NOT Bob's wheel. It's Clay's.
Here is a youtube video, made by PHP, that shows the sound of the 38R with the 11 vane billet wheel. The sound, I am experiencing, is the same with my AFE Stage 2 intake.

I have Clays new 38r wheel, just got it on tuesday, along with upipes. Haven't installed yet but will post up pics when its done. All I've done so far is ceramic coat the upipes and collector silver. The wheel is 6/6 staggered vanes.

What do you guys mean by 5/5 and 6/6? Sorry if that's a dumb question.

5 full blades and 5 clipped blades like this..

This is what helps cure surge on our turbos.

Here is a 11 blade GTX garrett wheel. All the blades are the same.

This wheel moves a lot more air and has a much broader map. B/c of our compressor housing being rather restrictive we clip the wheels.

If you get a ported housing you could go with a 10 or 11 blade wheel and it would move more air. But we got stock turbos.. so it's a push..

So the 6/6 wheel has 6 full and 6 clipped?

What does the stock compressor wheel have?

Robert, I just went out and looked at the stock 38 wheel. It has 9 vanes. Yes the 5/5 or 6/6 is 5 or 6 tall and short.
Jim.

99-03 Wheel at top
E.99 comp wheel (WW, surge cure) in the middle
Riffraff Billet E99 wheel (5/5) on the bottom

Give me no credit for this pic. It was Peter's (duckfan) doing.

This is why it works so well for my application. The 38R's ported compressor housing and my larger 1.15 A/R turbine housing play well together with the added volume the 11 blade wheel provides.

Sound Videos of Riffraff Billet 38R Wheel

Here are a couple of vidoes that I took with my smart phone during a trip we took this weekend. The first one was taken while in 80 Economy while my wife was driving my truck without the trailer on the interstate at ~65 mph. The second was while we were towing the travel trailer at ~65 mph with cruise set on our way back through a hilly area.

Here are some pics of Clays new 6/6 blade wheel. These are of the 94-03 wheel so I am not sure if it is the same for the 38R?

I believe Clay will be offering the 6/6 wheel for the 38R, also. But, my Riffraff Billet 38R Wheel has 11 equally sized and spaced vanes (fins).

I thought the 38R was supposed to be different. I don't see that wheel listed on his website. The only billet wheel I see is the one listed for the 94-03.

It's not listed. I got mine before he released the 6/6 38 version.
