Blown turbo?

<p>My friend doubts me, but I'm pretty sure it blew. Was getting on the freeway onramp and loss power like no air was being compressed into engine from turbo, immediately pulled over and shut my truck off. Looked under hood nothing out of the ordinary nothing loose. Looked under the truck no leaks. What ya'll think? I'm sure it sounds like a real newb question. (its all stock btw)

That sucks! Def need more info tho.

Please give us the specifics of the truck, year, mods, auto/manual etc.

Was it smoking out of the tail pipe? If so, what color was the smoke.

Did it idle normal?

Will it restart and idle normal?

Generally turbos don't just "blow", usually the seal goes out of the turbo on the exhaust side or intake side or both and it either burns oil if its the intake seal or it blows un-burnt oil out the tail pipe and is usually white in color when under power.

95 PSD X-Cab 4x4 automatic. No smoke, normal idle, saw a lil oil smudge on the passenger front fender. But nothing else will investigate in the daylight and report back. It was making a whirring sound the week before, kept trying to figure out where it was coming from. Oh ya has 387k miles on it.

If your turbo blew, you'd be blowing smoke.

Your EBPV probably closed, or your de-fueling because something else is wrong.

checked it today no smoke, idle was strange...turned it off and tried again then it wouldn't start. So I guess that's a no on blowing the turbo. Think its more of a fuel issue.

Clean the FPR screen and check the fuel color in the bowl as well as the filter.

You don't know ? well I would start there....then maybe add some Seafoam to the engine oil......And some Lubricicity Addtive to the Fuel ( like Power Service) ...Hell I would even go as far as Channging the oil...THEN see what it does....
