'94 Ranger speedometer reads slow.

Is it cable controlled or computer controlled? I had the transmission repaired and now it's reading 55 when I'm going 66 by GPS. The trans guy said he installed the same gear that came out. Thanks.

I believe there's a plastic gear in the tranny for your year. If you have a speedometer cable, then follow it to the tranny. There's a gear on the end of it that can be changed to alter how the speedo reads.

Were you getting 55 mph readings before with that GPS? If it were me, I think I would check the speed by other means just to make sure - a "second opinion" so to speak...
