cruise control messed up
I have a 1999 ford f 150 4x4 with the 4.6 litre engine and I got it not to long ago and the cruise control does not work at all on it. No light or anything. I know these trucks had a recall over the cruise control but I do not know if this truck ever had it done to it. I have checked a couple websites with the vin for recalls and nothing is showing up. I have noticed under the hood that there seems to be some wires coming from the cruise control box or servo which ever it is called and they look like they have been ripped in half. Im not sure if that is what it is or not but it's my guess. The break lights all work and i have checked any and all fuses in the truck and can't find one that is blown. Does anyone else know what I should try to do?

If the wiring is pulled apart or damages, why would you think the Cruise should work?
The controller is a plug-up.
Depends on which side of the plug the wiring is damaged.
Match the color codeing and repair the leads.
Then see what you have.
After this there is a diagnostic test to do from the steering wheel that will uncover issues that still exist if any.
Good luck

not sure if the wiring i seen that looked torn apart is the correct wires or not. Not sure if the dealership made the so called repairs to the cruise control when they made the recall or not. The wires that look like they have been pulled apart or cut or what have you, I can not find the other end as to where they go or anything else i can only see that one end and i have looked for the other and cant find it.
