Stainless Tailgate Hinges for the Style Side

I saw stainless hinges for the Stepside on Dennis Carpenter and regular hinges on LMC. Anyone have information on stainless for the styleside?

The pictures of the styleside hinges on LMC look similar to the Dennis Carpenter stepside hinges, but I am not sure how close they actually are.

This is a problem. I used the hinges from LMC but had to use 4 or 5 flat washers to make them work. I think they are actually for the flare side. I am not aware of the correct hinges for the styleside anywhere but sure would like a pare.

Walston, those are indeed styleside hinges. Unfortunately, they might just be poor reproductions. The stepside hinges have the tailgate swivel point centered between the mounting holes.

You are likely correct, but the fact of the matter remains I know of no one who makes the correct ones and I sure wish someone would.

I wanted a new set of hinges for my styleside and got them from LMC last month. I haven't put them on yet but they match the original ones.

Your truck is a Flareside, a Stepside is a (gasp) Chevrolet. Styleside hinges will not work on Flaresides.

I pulled a set of stainless styleside hinges off of a beat up box in the P&S a few months ago. Ill find them and see if they have any info or #s on them that might help. The box was on a 59 or 60 3/4 ton fridge.

I found the hinges and there are no #s or any markings of any type at all. It almost looks like someone had a set chromed.

There are no numbers of any kind marked on tailgate hinges. Ford part numbers, applications for 1948/79 Flareside & 1957/60 Styleside bed hinges listed in post 6.
