Whidbey Island

What's the scoop? I hear the island is falling into the water. Saw some pictures, just sure what part it is that is sliding. Not much news here in AZ about about WA.

I haven't heard anything about this... Then again I don't stick around the house long enough to "enjoy" the news. Maybe the few members that live on Whidbey can pipe up if they see this thread.

You may have to go look at this link I don't know if it will give a video box on FTE or not.
Watch: Aerial footage of Whidbey Island landslide - CBS News Video
What happened is they had a bug landslide at a water side cliff.
Some houses at risk of going in the drink.

Wired a home on the edge several years ago on the island. South of the island. Videos aren't really showing where its at.

It was up in Coupeville, about middle/northern part of the island. A mixture of rain, surprise snow, and more rain made the cliff liquefy, and then gravity worked it's magic.

I have spent a few years digging in gravel pits and find it absolutely amazing that anyone would want to put a house that close to a high bank.
