Post "1990 Headlight Lenses"

Hi everyone,
I have a 1990 F150 and my headlight lenses look old and faded yellow.
I went to a dealer to get a price on the replacement lenses and they told me that it will cost $260.00 to replace both lenses with new ones.
I just wanted to know if that sounds about right and has anyone replaced these lenses before and how much did it cost?
Can you get these replacement lenses anywhere else besides the dealer?
Thanks in advance!

The yellowness can be removed. Get some 1000-grit sandpaper and rubbing compound and you can rub the yellowness out. The headlamps don't have lens, they are a complete unit.

Once you get the yellowing out, you can wax them to prevent it from coming back so soon. It is caused by the sun.

You should be able to get rid of the dullness and yellowing of the
lenses by rubbing them out with a product called Scratchout. I think
its' made by Kit. I polished up my plastic windsheild on my old boat
with this product and it worked exceptionally well. It's clear again.
This stuff is really cheap (about $2.50 a bottle), so I would give it
a try before you invest in new lenses. Look for a yellow plastic
bottle of this stuff at any auto parts store. Good luck.

Go to ebaymotors then go into parts and acces..then on the left side
type in f150 and click on both boxes and it'll show you everything listed
for ford-f150, sometimes it'll be listed sometimes not, but, the person selling it has there own site it's called www.headlightwarehouse.com there from Minnesota, and you can go to them direct...
