Yes, welcome back. What kind of repairs do you need to do to the frame? Did the parts truck come with a hoist?

Don't know if the new donor truck has power steering or not but if it does the box should work on the '42 without that much mods and p/s would make the '42 drive much nicer. IMO.

my parts was only a cab! so sadly all i have is the pto. i will need a pump and a cylinder. i will post picture of my frame later. power steering would be great,if i ever have to go with a different engine. but i,m praying my flat head is good. i had notice prestone in the engine oil ,but some how i don,t see prestone anymore. i would slack oil plug and let a little go by,just too see.

Glad to see ya back at it! That newer ford flatbed truck you bought. Are you planning to use the flatbed off of it? If so I would measure the distance between the frame rails of the trucks and see if they match up. I'm willing to bet that the frame on the F700 is wider than the frame on the old 2 ton.

Should be the standard 34 inches on both.

put a few hours over the weekend. they had plated the frame inside and outside. the plates were bolted and welded. i plan on repairing one side at a time. started on the right side witch is the worse side for rust. got 2 crossmember out,one left to unrivet.

the last picture was with a customers kw. i tried to find a better frame ,but didn,t find anything. my cousin got a machine shop he going to order some let say frame iron. i not knowledgeable in tinsil strength so i ask for his advice. the plan is to bend the iron on his big hydrolique bending bench,to the same dimension as the old piece,s. now its a double frame so i,m not really sure how i will join it. i,m planning a 45 degre cut were crossmember are . but i,m not sure about the inner piece. even though of removing the inner frame. anybody got ideals !!! the frame seems larger in some places forgot to take a picture ,kind of strange. if somebody could take a picture of a nice frame it could maybe help me.
