You beat me to that one! Both mine are missing too and I have the same question. I don't have brakes yet, but the clutch one I ran a piece of coat hanger wire way up to something and a oddball spring I found. It works ok for now. From what I recall, they run opposite directions from each other. Anyone? A pic would be great or maybe a diagram from the book or ??? Bernette where do you go in two weeks? We are gonna miss your reports.

cab is wired to run,got the new key cylinder installed, so hopefully i will seal inside floor and rear cab with paint early tommorow morning. then gas tank installed(sometime next week),fire it up to see if everything works ok. and reinstall fenders and grille. should button her up for now. oh and add transmission oil.last year it had all leak back out, when i top it off. there was a broken bolt in transmission support,i got it out and tighten the 3 other ones.

what would be the consensus,on starting a flat head! i wanted to start it up,to be sure everythings working ok. truck is inside about 65 degrees, hadn,t started for 9 weeks. so i pulled the choke(maybe shouldn,t) gas pedal 3 or 4 times. now i have an electric gas pomp,so bowl filled without turning engine. crank motor once no exhaust,so pedal a few more time. crank over again no exhaust. decide to remove choke try again no exhaust, repeated all this a few times, never one exhaust.decide to check carburator lots of gas, check for spark that,s ok. give it and other go gas too the floor too unflood, never one exhaust! so ended pulling sparks they smelled gas but didn,t seem that badly flood. but they were awful dark motor must run rich. the sparks are new from last year maybe 3 hrs of running in 1 year. so heres the question are theses motors easly flooded . i didn,t have any problem starting it before, last fall after sitting for maybe 4 months its started after 3 tries! gonna give it another try tommorrow evening.
