I should have added, after '48 the grill trim was an option. But it still would be considered stock. Chrome plating the grill would cost a small fortune and wouldn't be stock and also a lot harder to maintain, IMO.

WELL.... 16 hours later... that was a wasted trip... it was a dented up rust bucket.

if you count the lung on the spare tire it is 3/4 ton , i started with a 1951 3/4
ton it had eight lug's and 17" tires. for parts look at LMCtruck.com and
classic haulers 877-252-1948, mid fifty f-100

 

F2, F3, both eight lug until '53. Try hot rod garage in Minot. They sell a lot of heavy trucks. I bought a great running all original 53 f350 flareside from them about seven years ago. They have a very active web site. The half tons sell right away, but the big stuff seems to sit there a while. Very cool photo by the way, and best of luck in your search.

 

I think we found a good F2, will keep you posted. On a side note, where do I find F3 emblems?

 

Look through FTE classifieds, swap meets, eBay, Craigslist. No one that I know is reproducing the F-2 or F-3 emblems.

No wonder he didn't post pictures. I can't figure out why people won't post pictures of items their trying to sell. Almost everyone has a digital camera, if you don't find someone who does. The only legitiment reason is because they have crap.

 

Not a junker... but needed more then what we wanted to put into it.

 

Just scanned through hotrodgarage. That's how trucks for sale should be photographed. Floor mats out, photos of door bottoms, cab corners all the normal rust areas in close up detail and original paint. No bondo, or any attempt to hide repairs. An amazing 52 cab, tons of old fords, but no '50 f3 at the moment. Bring your camera on your next outing!

Well...your grandfather's taste in airplanes improved over the years...from a Skyhawk to a Debonair...not a bad upgrade!
