Hello & Help for 1963 F600

Hello y'all. My name's Greg & my dad is the owner of a 1963 F600 with 29000 original miles. It was bought new in Nashville, TN & my dad is 2nd owner. I'm his helping hand & internet researcher. This forum seems loaded with knowledge, so here I am. Look forward to learning all I can.

Here's the #'s & what I found so far:
F60CG390605
F600; 292 2V; Chicago Assy Plant
156" WB; Rangoon Red (J); Standard Cab (81A); FF2-Borg Warner t98 4Spd with Eaton 13800 or 13802 2 speed rear axle

It has the widow maker wheels, so we'll be searching for replacements. I'm still digging through old threads about stud vs hub centered. I'll post some pics & questions on those soon.

Here are my starter questions for today....
1. I can't find date of Mfg. Can someone tell me month based on vin 390605?
2. We want to add power steering. Best i can tell, the assist cylinder setup was an original option on these trucks. Also open to swapping gearbox. So my question....what donor trucks should I be looking for? Bolt in would be first choice but we can do fab work if needed. Any advice & pros/cons would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance. I'll post pictures soon.
Have a great day!

Are you sure they're widowmakers or just split rim?

VIN: F60CG390605 / W.B. 156 / COLOR: J / MODEL: Omitted / BODY: 81A / TRANS: F / AXLE: F2 / GVWR: Omitted
Welcome to FTE

F60 = F600.

C = 292 2V

G = Chicago IL Assembly Plant.

390605 = 1963, assembled March 1963.

156" Wheelbase.

J = Rangoon Red.

81A = Standard Cab.

F = Borg Warner T-98 4 Speed Manual Transmission.

F2 = Eaton model 13802 Two Speed Rear Axle / 6.33/8.81 / 15,000 lbs. Rear Axle Capacity.

Do not believe the miles shown on the odometer, as it reads to 99,999.9 then returns to ZERO!

29,000 miles on a 50 year old truck that was used commercially is unrealistic.
