94 F150 Clutch Adjuster Rod

Ok I figured it out. Shined a good light inside the mc where the pushrod goes in and there were a couple metal tabs holding it in. Looked a bit grungy in there so I used a small flat blade and worked them back and forth a few times. Then went through a selection of “bic” style pens until I found one the right diameter inside and out that slipped over the pushrod [after I removed the plastic part of it) but also fit inside the mc opening. Then I carefully cut the pen so it’s length left about 1 1/2” of the metal pushrod exposed when I slid it over the pushrod . I slid the remaining part of the pen over the rest of the pushrod and tapped it with a small hammer. That pushed the tabs out of the way. Then I removed the second part of the pen and grabbed the metal pushrod with vice grips. Without disturbing the pen I pulled the pushrod out. What an ordeal!
After installing the the new all metal pushrod I now have a problem with it slipping of the post on the pedal assembly. Will attempt that problem tomorrow.
If I figure out how to I will post some pictures later.
