New exhaust, now truck knocks, sputters, and pings
ok guys, so I put a new muffler on my truck and ever since I put it on my truck is rattling, shaking, it basicly feels like its about to rattle itself apart, and even with the pedal to the floor I have almost no power if im already going. does anybody have ideas what could be causing it apart from the muffler ?

Some thoughts
Question; When you said "all the emmissions stuff is removed", how much is "all"? Got an aftermarket(non-smog) carb and dizzy on your engine? A smidgen more info would be appreciated.
One thought is if the muffler shop MIG welded the exhaust together without disconnecting the battery, they may have hurt your ignition if it's still electronic or aftermarket like an MSD.
Directional flow mufflers usually have some kind of markings on them to show inlet/outlet/flow direction. One exception that I'm aware of is a muffler called a Flow-Sound, a counterfeit Flowmaster. They have no arrows or markings whatsoever on them to say which end is which.
My experience with a restricted muffler was a Flow Sound in a dual exhaust system that fell apart inside. It made a loud 'air nozzle' sound out the tailpipe on that side, not a crappy growl like the other side. The affected side exhaust manifold was about 40 degrees hotter, too. A pair of 30" long Smithy's mufflers fixed that problem.
Just some thoughts and info.
