VSS Wire Location 2010

Installing an aftermarket Nav/DVD/Head Unit and need to find the VSS wire under the dash (if there is one there) in my 2010 F350, crew cab. The standard Ford base radio (am/fm/cd - no sync) will be removed and replaced with a Pioneer Avic-X940BT. Apparantly the nav unit will be more accurate with the units "pink" wire tapped into the VSS wire in the truck.

Thanks in advance.

There is a VSO Vehicle Speed Output signal available in the bundle of customer access circuits that are a bundle of blunt cut wires above and behind where the OBDII data port is located. On a 2009 VSO is a violet with orange stripe wire, and in any event the wires have little tags labeling them.

From the doc:

VSO, VS_OUT:

Vehicle Speed Out. 8000 pulses per mile signal. Blunt-cut wire provided for customer access.

Thank you for the response. just to clarify, its a a single lead labeled VSO, VS_Out (and not two separate leads one labeled VSO and the other VS_out) correct?

Yes, one wire. There will be a bundle of wires that are all blunt cut and heat shrink capped up under the dash that have little white tape labels with the signal designations. There will also be another bundle of four that aren't labeled that are the pass-through wires that terminate near the brake master cylinder providing easy connections underhood if needed.

Found it. There were (as you said) a bundle of wires with a single tag wrapped around them identifying each one. Thank you again, that was big help.
