ok so my 95 f250 7.3L is having real bad misses like it literally dies then comes back to life when im goin down the road. i got it to stop a few days ago by adding more oil to my oil pan because it was showing almost a gallon low after i changed the oil i used 15 qts of 15-40 now its so bad it wont stay running and it is jerking me around ever time it dies/misses. any ideas?
The cam sensor can cause the truck to die and come back to life. Have you changed it out? Use only one from Ford or IH, as parts house ones are hit or miss.
Ok I Will Replace That This Weekend Its Located Behind The Timing Cover Correct? Like You Have To Pull Of The CoveR ? And If So Is Ther A gasket Fo ThecCover. I Haven't Replaced One In A While And Want To Make Sure I Remember right
Sorry for the late response here but I changed the semsor and also a leaky valve cover gasket still not fixed !!! It's driving me crazy I think it may be in the harness maybe a short but idk how to go about trouble shooting it. Amy ideas or somebody local of the junction city Kansas area wanna come out to my place and help me out

If it isn't your IDM, I would be willing to bet money that you have a short in your UVCH. This can be due to oil on the pins, and or burnt pins likely due to the oil causing excess resistance in the plug. Pull all your valve cover harness connections. Look for oil in there, and on the pins. If they are oily clean them with some QD cleaner, if they are burnt replace the pigtail harness. I'd also go inside the valve covers and look at that wiring.
Yes at idle and on the road first thing in the morning I'm going to check the idm for water inside I did check all the plugs going Into the valve covers all are running good I know I can cancel out the injectors cause as I pulled each plug I put a light test to check to make sure all were pulsing and sending signals and all looked good
Also a scam tool was hooked up and didn't show any codes they dealership I bought the truck from did the scan and was saying they weren't getting any signal even though the day I took it the engine light came on but went off and didn't come back on after I turned the key off
