I am soooo glad you did some deep homework on this and have already thought this through.

Just measure for width, narrow the housing and axles, cut off the mounts, install new or reposition the mounts compatible with the old leafs, shock brackets, and adapt the driveshaft. Gonna have to adapt, front to rear or vice versa, the new wheel bolt pattern cuz an 02's is metric... Or carry two spares.

Simple.

Thanks for the question!!

Without punctuation is sounds like a rambling...

Go measure and compare. Anything is possible given proper engineering and fabrication skills.

I don't see why you would want to do this. It would probably be easier to just do a disk brake conversion on the 9". It could be done, but I fail to see the benefits. Unless the 9" is totally trashed and you have a newer axle (02 F-150s had the 8.8" and 9.75") just laying around.

I think you should install the new axle behind the 9" to make it a tandem axle 6x6; if you really wanted to get crazy you would put dual wheels on both of the rear axles.. I would recommend a chain drive to deliver power to the rear most axle.

A wheel adapter will let you interchange the metric/english rims.

I was serious. Actually have a better idea. Install the second axle as a floater and install some cat trax... Turn it into a half track or something.

Btw... Stupid question = stupid answer.
