I have a 1978 f100 300 inline with a 3 on the tree and I am looking to mate my 3spd onto a 205 transfer case from an 1979 f150. Will it bolt on?? Another option would be to put my 300 onto a c6 auto, but the c6 is currently on a 351M. PLEASE HELP!!!

 

umm i dont know about the three speed mounting to the 205. and as for the c6 it will not bolt up to your 300 at all. what are you trying to do here make a 2wd 4wd or it is already and you need a tcase. what is the plan of action here.

 

If the 205 was married to the existing trans it will marry to the the new trans.
If it was divorced from one it won't marry to the other, or vice versa. You can put a divorced transfer behind a 2wd trans though, or you can swap the tail shaft on most 2wd trans to place a married transfer case behind it.

We need more info about donor and swap vehicles and what youre trying to do.
